St Alfege Church
Project type
CAD Drawings
Date
February 2026
Location
Greenwich, London.
We were commissioned to replace two worn stone steps forming part of the historic entrance at St Alfege Church, Greenwich. The existing steps had deteriorated significantly through age and footfall, requiring careful assessment and accurate replication.
Full site dimensions were taken to ensure the new steps would align precisely with the surrounding historic fabric. From these measurements, detailed CAD drawings were produced to define profiles, rises, treads, and interface points with the existing structure. Particular care was taken to maintain the character and proportions of the original stonework while ensuring compliance with current tolerances and practical site requirements.
The replacement steps were fabricated in matching stone and installed to sit seamlessly within the entrance, restoring both the structural integrity and visual quality of this prominent heritage setting.
